
Joanne Rowling better known as J. K. Rowling ( born 31 July 1965 ) is a British novelist, popular for writing the Harry Potter fantasy series. The Harry Potter books have also been the basis for the popular film series of the same name.
In 1997, her first novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was published. Rowling lived in poverty and faced many ups and downs during the writing period of her first novel. There were six sequels following the first novel in the Harry Potter series. The same series has won multiple awards and sold more than 500 million copies, becoming the best-selling book series in history. The Harry Potter series is extremely popular. Most kids grow up reading and watching movies on Potter’s adventures. Since 2007, when the last book of Harry Potter series was published, Rowling has written many other books too. She is the world’s first billionaire author but after giving away much of her earnings to charity, she lost her billionaire status.
The popularity and fame that she has gained is indeed a huge achievement for someone with humble beginnings. The journey of her life from being a poor and jobless person to a billionaire in less than 10 years is inspirational. Rowling inspires us to dare to dream and never give up on it, whatever the adverse conditions are.
